Larvik is also noted for its natural springs of mineral water, Farriskildene, which have been commercially exploited under the brand name Farris. At Kaupang in Tjølling lie the remains of the medieval Skiringssal trading outpost. Larvik is also home to the world's northernmost natural occurrence of beech trees (Fagus sylvatica) in Bøkeskogen.

Larvik has a daily ferry connection to Hirtshals in Denmark and another ferry connection to the Danish ferry port of Frederikhaven, service oferred by Color Line ferries.

Larvik houses the Treschow estate which is currently owned by Mille-Marie Treschow, the most affluent woman in Norway. The Treschow estate was created in the 1820s when the last count of Larvik was declared bankrupt.

Getting There - Arrive at Larvik via the E18 and follow signs for "Frederikshavn" for arrival at the ferry terminal.



Parking - There are a limited number of parking spaces. They cannot be reserved in advance and there is no on-site security. Most parking spaces allow parking for up to 24 hours. There are also a limited number of spaces where you can park for more than 24 hours. Parking is free.
