About Piraeus ferry port

The Piraeus port is located at the heart of Piraeus, with many services nearby. Facilities include left-luggage storage, ATMs, banks, bureau de change, bars, restaurants, taxis etc. From Piraeus ferry port terminal there are frequent crossings to ports in the following regions of Greece: Dodecanese islands, Cyclades islands, Peloponnese, Saronic Gulf Islands, Crete island, Samos island, northeastern Aegean Islands and northern Greece.

Ferry Schedules are numerous and ferry crossing services are reduced a bit during the winter months, but regardless this Piraeus is the most popular and busiest ferry port terminal in Greece and among the busiest in the Mediterranean. Hydrofoils are a rapid alternative to the ferries, although services are more costly and not as regular during rough weather. The majority of hydrofoils from Piraeus are operated by Hellas Flying Dolphin.

Companies operating conventional ferries between the Greek islands include: Anek Lines, Blue Star Ferries, Superfast Ferries, Minoan Lines and Hellas Flying Dolphins.

Those with disabilities will find good wheelchair access onboard all ferries operating to the Greek islands, and to international ferry port destinations. However, passengers are advised to inform their ferry company of any special needs after making their ferry ticket reservations soon enough before their ferry crossing sailing.
